The St. Austell Portfolios

In 1972 and again in 1997 Wallace produced portfolios containing etchings of the St. Austell landscapes. The earlier folio, St. Austell, contains six plates on papers of various colours. The second portfolio, St. Austell Remembered, has ten plates consisting of the first six plates with some re-working, and four additional plates made in 1997. Each folio was issued with a title page and several etched decorations on the folder. The latter folio was printed on quarto sheets of Arches Velin Crème. A list of the complete portfolio plates with details of all the etchings can be seen here. These are some of the last etchings made by Wallace.
